The Staff Engineer will complete professional/technical engineering reviews, inspections, and other engineering assignments, and deliver this data in formats and in applications that support critical planning, engineering and decision support activities across the enterprise. This position will be working directly with City and Program Management staff, supporting the City’s Clean Water Program.
This position will work under the general supervision of a senior or professional engineer. The following are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive; this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned:
  • Access and analyze technical and operational data from multiple data sources (e.g., CMMS, Plat Cards, GIS systems, etc.), and reconcile data between systems
  • Make independent decisions based on available information
  • Undertake data input and production of digital maps, surveys, engineering drawings, and special database reports
  • Respond to RFIs regarding information contained in specific City data sources
  • Assist with the preparation or review of project documentation, as directed, (e.g. presentations, sketches, drawings, maps, technical memoranda, meeting records, etc.)
  • EDUCATION: BS in Engineering or appropriate field
  • EXPERIENCE: 1-5 years of project engineer experience
  • LICENSE: EIT or PE license
  • CAD/ 3-D
  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • Experience working on Municipal Water/Wastewater projects
  • EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS: Microsoft Office applications
