Project Manager / Site Manager – Construction
Construction is a tough business. Yet you wouldn’t do anything else. What turns you on about the industry?
Showing your family and friends the high-end property you just built
The pace of the business and making things happen
Driving around town and being proud of the properties your company builds
Being the go-to person, the one that pulls it together to hit the schedule
The creativity and freedom of working in the field with a team of folks to complete the project
Whatever it is, you’ve felt for a while that some of the things that lured you into the field are lacking. Stuck in company that’s not moving. Maybe getting tired of bringing your A-game when you are surrounded by the B-team.
Starting to think a change might be in order? Keep reading.
Our client is a leader in developing real estate, building properties, and managing a luxury portfolio of multifamily and commercial properties central Ohio. Their properties span the Columbus area, ranging from downtown to suburbs like Dublin, New Albany, and Powell. As a development company, the focus is not simply to create superb properties, but an amazing lifestyle, and this relentless focus on quality has led to growth outpacing the market and the need to strengthen their team of leaders in the field.
What are they looking for in a Project Manager?
Individuals that have construction experience in leadership / site management / project management. People that have experience or are ready to step up to lead the builds of new multi-family residential and commercial properties. Projects are $10m to $30m
Folks that take pride in the results of their projects. This is not just a job, but a passion for you. You want to be the best and, yes, maybe have a bit of an ego and the swagger that goes with it.
Individuals that have a strong foundation in the building industry. Maybe you came up through the ranks swinging a hammer or running HVAC. Maybe you went to college and in the summers worked on site somewhere. You know what the professionals in the trades do and understand their world.
Experience with software and technology used in construction, things like MS Project and the other Office tools, and others. Chances are you are a whiz with mobile technology.
People that are proactive, with a sense of urgency, and know how to head off little issues before they become big ones. Maybe the plans say one thing but looking at it on site you know it won’t work, and take action before it becomes a real issue. People that creatively and collaboratively work with the subs and inspectors to get through issues so they don’t delay the schedule.
So, why this one? You’re connected already and know that every company in town is looking to hire.
First, the opportunity to work on projects you can be really proud of. This isn’t just putting bank branches in supermarkets or building warehouses. This is building places where you want to be and live.
You’ll be a part of an accessible leadership team, valued by the executives, where everybody knows you and the reputation you’ve earned.
Finally, the chance to grow with the organization. The firm is on a climbing trajectory, not simply because the market is good, but because they’ve chosen to focus on the segment where changing demographics provide continued growth.
All the other things are in place. Competitive pay and benefits, etc.
Sound like something worth exploring? Let’s talk. We know you are busy and we’ll fit your schedule.
